Spring USA, along with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announce the first commercial induction cooktops to earn ENERGY STAR® certification. Spring USA’s flagship line of induction ranges, MAX Induction, becomes the nation’s first commercial induction cooktops* to be certified within the induction category of the ENERGY STAR Commercial Electric Cooktops program.

What is Energy Star Certification for commercial induction cooktops?

Induction ranges and cooktops are common in foodservice operations for cooking, sauteing, grilling, boiling, simmering, and more. Induction offers a more efficient, clean, and safe option over traditional gas or electric cooking equipment. According to Energy Star, "certified commercial electric cooktops meet minimum cooking (boil) energy efficiency of 80 percent. Cooking energy efficiency represents the amount of energy absorbed by the water compared to the total energy used by the cooktop during the heat-up (boil) process."

As part of this certification process, each Spring USA induction range was tested in a laboratory recognized by the EPA to meet high-performance standards on energy transfer, heat-up response, and energy-efficiency. Our ranges passed with results exceeding the EPA requirements by almost 10%.

 


What savings do Energy-Star certified induction ranges offer?



  • About 10% more energy efficient than standard electric models, per hob

  • An ENERGY STAR certified commercial electric cooktop saves businesses about $50 annually (per hob) and $500 on utility bills over the product's lifetime when compared to standard electric models

  • An ENERGY STAR certified commercial electric cooktop saves businesses about 465 kWh annually (per hob)
